Interoute recognised for its strong European focus and its Unified ICT strategy

London, UK – 25 November 2010 – Interoute, owner operator of Europe’s largest next generation network, has won the “Best Regional Operator” category at the World Communication Awards, held in London on 24th November 2010.  Recognised for the scale and reach of its pan-European network and for its commitment to delivering cutting edge fully managed services hosted within its private cloud, the judges pointed to Interoute’s strong customer testimonials.

“Interoute is really leveraging its pan-European backbone, building a reputation for outstanding services,” said one judge. “We were impressed by Interoute’s strong European focus and its clear growth strategy.”

Interoute’s strategy is based around providing customers with a comprehensive portfolio of solutions and services from the Ground (Infrastructure and connectivity) to the Cloud (fully managed services hosted within the Interoute private cloud). Interoute focuses on service innovation combined with a constant drive for efficiency to bring value to customers and keep ahead of the market. Its enterprise strategy “Unified ICT” is an approach to creating and managing all enterprise ICT infrastructures as a service, delivered from a secure networking platform.

2010 saw network expansions into Moscow and Turkey, to serve as stepping points into the growing international trade markets of Asia and the Middle East, and the launch of its Unified Connectivity service, UConn, which enables enterprises to quickly and easily change ICT services without being financially penalised for changes not in the original contract.

Gareth Williams, CEO of Interoute, comments: “We are incredibly proud to win this award as it recognises our core commitment to being the leading operator in Europe. Despite tough economic times, we have continued to innovate and expand, delivering cutting edge services to European enterprises and operators. To be awarded by such an esteemed panel of industry experts signals recognition for the success of our European business model.”

Interoute serves more than 3,000 customers across Europe, with services ranging from infrastructure and connectivity to fully managed services hosted within its private cloud.
