FAIRPOINT COMMUNICATIONS PROMOTES RYAN TAYLOR TO KEY NEW HAMPSHIRE REGULATORY POST

MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 27, 2010) – FairPoint Communications recently announced Ryan Taylor has been appointed Director of Regulatory in New Hampshire. Taylor will serve as the point of contact for New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (PUC) staff and will be responsible for state regulatory affairs.

“This is an extremely important position for FairPoint as our relationships with state regulatory officials are a critical part of our business,” said Teresa Rosenberger, state president for FairPoint in New Hampshire. “Ryan has a solid background in telecommunications and understands its importance to New Hampshire. He is committed to FairPoint’s success and well suited for this role.”

Taylor has worked for FairPoint and before that Verizon Communications for more than 10 years. He previously served as the area manager for construction in New Hampshire with responsibility for all pole and cable construction activity throughout the state. He also led the fiber construction team in southern New Hampshire supporting the construction of the Granite State’s first fiber to the home network. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Hampshire. Taylor spent six years with the United States Marine Corps Reserve, including a one-year activation where he spent time in the Persian Gulf as a communications specialist, during which he earned a Certificate of Commendation.

He serves on the steering committee for Capital Area Student Leadership, is involved with the Leadership Greater Manchester program and has volunteered with Special Olympics New Hampshire. Ryan and his wife Paula live in Concord and have three daughters.
