Atrium Network Adds Stockholm as Second Interxion POP

LONDON 26 October 2010 – Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced that Atrium Network, provider of smarter connectivity for the financial community, has extended the footprint of its services by locating a Point of Presence (POP) in Interxion’s Stockholm data centre. Atrium Network’s POP offers the trading community ultra-low-latency connectivity to all the Stockholm-based exchanges: Nasdaq OMX, Burgundy and NGM, as well as between the London and Stockholm financial centres.

Market participants seeking to capitalise on the emerging trading opportunities in the Nordic markets can now access a range of trading infrastructure solutions by colocating at Interxion and benefit from access to Atrium Network’s secure, robust and fully scalable, ultra-low-latency network.

Atrium Network has an existing POP in Interxion’s City of London data centre. Market participants in either data centre can benefit from Atrium Network’s low-latency connectivity between both financial centres, measured on a one-way basis at less than 13 milliseconds.

“We already have many clients connected to the Atrium Network London POP. By building an additional POP in Interxion’s facility in Stockholm, we are increasing the choice for the latency-sensitive Stockholm trading community. The benefits for trading firms seeking to trade in Stockholm are measurable, and roundtrip latencies are reduced by as much as 24 milliseconds,” said Emmanuel Carjat, CEO of Atrium Network. “Trading opportunities continue to emerge for our clients throughout Europe. Our Exchange Ring helps participants benefit from better price discovery, faster order execution and greater choice of access routes between London-Frankfurt, London-Stockholm and Stockholm-Frankfurt in order to trade the options and cash equity markets.”

Peder Bank, Managing Director, Interxion Nordics, commented, “Key to capitalising on the emerging trading opportunities in the Nordic market is the availability of low-latency access to multiple venues for its community members, many of whom are located in London. Consequently, we are witnessing increasing demand for colocation and proximity hosting in the Nordic markets and are delighted that Atrium Network has decided to extend their London colocation to Stockholm. We believe that increased choice will deliver considerable benefits to our community members, and Atrium Network’s end customers will benefit from the opportunities on offer by the communities within our data centres.”
