Lightyear Network Solutions Announces Multi-Year Carrier Services Agreement with XO Communications

— Agreement will expand Lightyear’s nationwide footprint —

LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lightyear Network Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: LYNS – News) (www.lightyear.net), a provider of telecommunication services to large, medium and small businesses, as well as residential consumers throughout North America, today announced a new multi-year Carrier Services Agreement with XO Communications Services, Inc. to expand Lightyear’s nationwide footprint for its Dedicated Internet and Ethernet Private Line services.

“Lightyear is pleased to announce this new arrangement with XO, a highly respected provider of Ethernet and advanced data services for the wholesale services sector,” said J. Sherman Henderson, CEO of Lightyear. “This agreement provides our sales force yet another tool to sharpen Lightyear’s competitive edge in today’s technology marketplace. Lightyear’s increased presence across the nation, along with XO’s improved provisioning systems, strong service level agreements (SLAs), and automated quoting engines, will help bolster sales moving forward.”

Services such as XO’s Dedicated Internet Access and Ethernet Private Line allow businesses to quickly and reliably transmit mission-critical data between locations at speeds up to 10 Gbps. This has the potential to result in savings for clients on capital and overhead expenses, in addition to providing enhanced privacy for sensitive corporate data.

“We’re very pleased about this opportunity to support Lightyear customers with our Dedicated Internet Access and Ethernet services,” said Don MacNeil, vice president of XO Carrier Services sales operations. “Our robust IP and transport networks, combined with our nationwide reach, give XO the flexibility and scalability to meet the increasing bandwidth needs of Lightyear’s customers. With this agreement, XO expects to add value to Lightyear’s business by enhancing its service offerings, reducing its costs and extending its market coverage.”
