Digital Sports Video Selects Internap to Speed Video Delivery to the Nation’s Top College Athletic Programs

Internap’s route-optimized CDN ensures high-performance delivery of web-based sports video to 4,500 colleges, junior colleges and high schools

ATLANTA – September 15, 2010 — Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a leading provider of end-to-end Internet business products and services, today announced that Digital Sports Video (DSV), the nation’s largest provider of sports video scouting and editing software, has selected Internap’s route-optimized Content Delivery Network (CDN) to ensure the reliable, high-performance delivery of sports video footage to its customer base of more than 4,500 universities, colleges, junior colleges and high schools across the nation.

DSV provides powerful sports video presentation and production capabilities, saving coaches significant time by allowing them to quickly gather, edit and organize game and practice video in a digital format. Coaches and players also have the ability to access video from any location with an Internet connection, enabling faster information sharing and enhancing the recruiting process. DSV’s recruiting video library, Player-Direct, is used by some of the nation’s top-ranked college football programs – including the University of Alabama, the University of Oregon, and Oklahoma University – for coaching, scouting, game analysis and recruiting. Several other teams in major athletic conferences, including the Pac-10 and the Big 12, also use Player-Direct.

Internap’s CDN utilizes a powerful, performance-optimized network – Performance IP™ – for DSV to store, manage and distribute its sports video footage. Performance IP uses patented Managed Internet Route Optimizer™ (MIRO) technology to analyze network performance characteristics, such as available bandwidth, delays and packet loss, ensuring that DSV’s video traffic is routed over the best Internet path 100 percent of the time. In addition, Internap’s whole-site approach to CDN delivery replicates frequently-accessed content across cache servers at each location, improving video reliability and performance.

“Internap provides us with a CDN that meets our unique requirements which no one else would accommodate,” said Chris Griffin, president of DSV. “Our customers include major college football programs from the nation’s top conferences, so we need to make sure that our video footage is available 24/7. Internap has come through on every angle and that gives me peace of mind.”

“For Internet-based companies like DSV, having optimal network performance and reliability across the country is important for delivering the best possible user experience, which is key to their business,” said Scott Hrastar, senior vice president of IP Services at Internap. “Our patented MIRO technology and global CDN allows DSV to focus on more strategic initiatives like product development, knowing that their customers will connect seamlessly, regardless of where their school may be.”
