Category: EH, General

New York, NY –  NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), today announced the company’s chief executive officer (CEO), Kazuhiro Gomi, will address the critical topic of  cloud computing security at the 2010 CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony.  NTT Communications is a corporate sponsor of the event.

Mr. Gomi will participate in a panel discussion, “Securing Data in the Cloud: Three Expert Views from the Front Lines, ” and be joined by fellow panelists Treb Ryan, CEO of OpSource, the leading provider of cloud-based solutions for enterprises,  and Bill Yeack, Executive Vice President of Integralis, the leading global information security specialists.  This discussion will take place on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2:40 p.m. PDT at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Enterprises are adopting cloud technologies for speed to market, business flexibility and cost control.  However, serious questions still abound on the security vulnerabilities of cloud deployment.  This panel will provide expert opinions from three different perspectives and address issues  including: How segmented is your data from other customers in a public cloud?  Who has access?  What attacks have been launched against cloud platforms and what are the right defenses?

As a leading provider of enterprise  hosting, cloud and virtualization services, managed network and global IP networking services, NTT America has unique insight into the infrastructure supporting cloud computing, virtual storage, virtualized servers and how to secure these environments from internal and external vulnerabilities. Mr.Gomi will be sharing his  perspectives on critical issues such as best practices for  building a public cloud on enterprise infrastructure, key features of a virtualized server environment, geographic diversity as part of security planning, how to detect and defend DDoS attacks and naming the tools necessary to compartmentalize information ownership.

OpSource will review the unique role of networks and change management in securing the cloud. The company will examine the use of firewalls, load balancing, VPNs, encryptions in production cloud environments. Integralis, as a global provider of managed security services and professional services has a deep understanding of the requirements for security and compliance around cloud infrastructure, will provide deep detail into the importance of security and compliance considerations as they pertain to cloud infrastructure.
