Addition of proven sales leader is part of Internap’s ongoing strategy to expand presence and coverage in key markets for new business and customer growth
ATLANTA – August 31, 2010 — Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a leading provider of end-to-end Internet business products and services, today announced the expansion of its sales team with the addition of Chris Parsons as sales director for the northern California region. Parsons brings more than 21 years of technology sales and sales leadership experience to Internap from industry-leading organizations such as Cable and Wireless, Qwest and TelePacific.
In his position, Parsons is responsible for developing new business and selling Internap’s IP services, Managed Hosting, Colocation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions to a wide range of organizations, as well as further developing the company’s sales team.
The hiring is part of a plan that includes expansion in the northern California region with the opening of a premier new colocation site in Santa Clara, California. This site will open with 27,000 square feet of net-sellable space. It will be the sixth market to include Internap built data centers.
“We feel that Chris has the experience to grow our newly expanding market,” said Randal Thompson, senior vice president of global sales at Internap. “His technology background and business intelligence will allow him to drive new business and help our customers optimize their network connectivity as they move toward cloud computing.”
Parsons holds a B.S in Sales and Marketing Management from SW London College. Prior to joining Internap, Parsons served as general manager for TelePacific where he was responsible for sales and revenue growth in Northern California. He also spent two years with Qwest and 13 years with Cable and Wireless USA where he successfully managed the B2B unit for the Western United States.
