360networks Completes Fiber deployment to Advanced Data Centers’ (ADC) McClellan Park/Sacramento Facility

Deployment enables ADC’s Bay area customers to benefit from the unique advantages the site provides

SEATTLE, WA – August 17, 2010 — 360networks, a facilities-based full service wholesale provider of Private Line Transport, IP, VoIP, and Local Access solutions, today announced completion of a fiber build for Advanced Data Centers (ADC), a leading owner and developer of corporate data centers.  For this deployment, 360networks provided fiber from its backbone with diverse laterals into ADC’s McClellan Park facility, situated on a former Air Force base with low cost $0.08 utility rates and state sales tax credits on IT equipment (servers, routers, etc.)

“With 360networks as our backbone provider we are now able to offer low latency (2.3 milliseconds), 10 and 40 Gig service to key sites in the Bay Area, including Equinix in San Jose,” said Michael Cohen, president of Advanced Data Centers.  “Our Bay area customers can now benefit from our site’s favorable tax benefits, its location outside of earthquake and flood zones, and the lowest power costs in the state.”

“As demand for wholesale collocation and cloud computing continues to grow, particularly in Northern California and other high tech centers throughout the west, 360networks remains well positioned to support data center providers like ADC,” said Rob Frasene, president of 360networks. “With the planned launch of our layer 2 Carrier Ethernet service later this year, we will be able to provide data centers a number of low latency intra-city options.”

With its dense network footprint and full suite of wholesale telecommunications services, 360networks provide data center operators the high bandwidth, low latency connectivity required to quickly and cost effectively support intra-city expansion.  Its complete fiber optic network spans 18,000 route miles to over 60 major metros, suburban markets and rural areas from the west coast to the Mississippi Valley.

About the McClellan Park Data Center Campus

ADC’s McClellan Park data center, situated in a seismically inactive area outside of the 500-year floodplain, is a carrier neutral facility that boasts $0.0834/kWh power costs. The McClellan Park Data Center campus is anchored by an ADC owned 45MW substation and will ultimately include over 300,000 square feet of data centers. A major advantage is the site’s central California location and proximity to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, as well as the significant tax incentives available through Local Agency Military Base Recovery Area (LAMBRA). The facility has been pre-certified LEED Platinum by the USGBC.
