NTT America Announces Global Virtualization Services Now Available in Singapore

Demand For Virtualization Services Brings Singapore Datacenter Online

New York, NY – NTT America, Inc., a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a global Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider, today announced the expansion of its Global Virtualization Services (GVS) offering with the addition of the Singapore premium data center.  NTT America first announced the GVS offering in February, 2010, with the launch of the San Jose, Sterling, London and Hong Kong datacenters.

Global Virtualization Services targets enterprises and multinational corporations seeking to lower their capital expenditures through outsourcing of their server environments.  Compared to building a server environment of their own, these businesses realize significant cost savings as they require far fewer servers when in a virtualized environment.  GVS achieves this though higher server utilization, rapid deployment of additional servers and new applications, as well as enhanced management, control and reporting through the customer portal.

“The demand for our virtualization services has been very strong since our introduction earlier this year,” said Doug McMaster, vice president of product and solutions for the Enterprise Solutions Business Unit at NTT America.  “With the introduction of GVS in the Singapore premium data center, enterprises and multinational corporations with operations or customers in the region will benefit from our infrastructure, network performance and datacenter facility.”

Customers benefit from having many geographically dispersed datacenters to choose from for their hosting needs, allowing the data to reside closest to their end users for better performance.   Additionally, both the existing and new datacenters all have direct backbone connections to the NTT Com Global IP Network, providing optimal Internet route access, global tier-1 backbone private peering, and industry-leading network SLAs.  The datacenter is connected to other Southeast Asia regions via six diverse submarine cable systems to ensure redundancy.  The Singapore premium datacenter is a purpose built facility and operates under some of the most stringent datacenter requirements in the country, including true 2N redundant power systems.

NTT America’s customers using Global Virtualization Services gain the advantages of a single point of contact for management, support and billing and a consistent set of Virtualization Services based on NTT Communications’ global infrastructure. Customers can quickly build and deploy follow-the-sun solutions that enhance their business continuity planning and enable them to be closer to their customers around the world.

The service is called Biz Hosting Global in Japan and based on the NTT Com’s global infrastructure.
