Global Crossing Adds Social Media and New Features to its Collaboration Services

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced the addition of unique social media interfaces and other enhancements to its web meeting offer with the launch of Global Crossing Web Meeting™ 11.

Global Crossing Web Meeting 11 offers a new intuitive platform that dramatically increases participant interaction, event recordings and promotion via direct interfaces with social media sites such as Facebook® and Twitter®. Global Crossing Web Meeting is part of Global Crossing’s comprehensive suite of audio, video and web-based collaboration services.

New features of Global Crossing Web Meeting 11 include:

  • A new icon-based platform that allows users to navigate more easily.
  • Links to meeting invites and automatic embeds of meeting recordings that can be shared via Facebook®, Twitter® and blogs to increase event promotion and information sharing.
  • One-click meeting joining with no software downloads.
  • Six new polling features that allow for questions, comments and post-meeting feedback.


 

The social media feature is an enhancement to the other existing features such as podcasting, online editing and full webinar setup that help users share information more easily and meet emerging online business application requirements.

According to Wainhouse Research, an independent market research firm, the global market for web conferencing services is projected to grow to a total market size of nearly $2.1 billion by 2013, increasing at a compounded annual rate of 11 percent between 2008 and 2013.
