BroadSoft Responds To Worldwide Growth in Demand for End-to-end VoIP Network Monitoring

PacketSmart Endorsed by InTechnology and Alteva

GAITHERSBURG, MD – July 20, 2010 – BroadSoft®, the leading global provider of IP-based communications services to the telecommunications industry, announced today customer growth of BroadSoft PacketSmart. Responding to increased global demand for end-to-end VoIP network monitoring, PacketSmart has been selected by InTechnology and Alteva to ensure high quality of service (Qos) and minimize the challenges encountered in the delivery of real-time communication services.

Both InTechnology and Alteva have already seen PacketSmart help to significantly improve QoS for their customers. BroadSoft PacketSmart is designed to enable service providers and enterprises, to deliver “carrier-grade” service quality all the way into the customer local area network (LAN), even when they do not control the end-to-end network.

InTechnology, an EU-wide communications service provider, can now fully support its mission to provide the highest possible quality IP communications services to its customers. While cloud-based unified communications provider Alteva is another good example of BroadSoft responding to customers’ requests for a solution that helps solve quality of service challenges across the entire, end-to-end network.

“As a provider of fully managed IP telephony, it’s imperative that we deliver a service with consistently high voice quality.” said Ian Rhodes, Development and Platforms director at InTechnology. “We were immediately impressed with the PacketSmart solution and the depth of reporting data available.”

“The service provided by Alteva has always been of the highest level,” said Jorge Arroyo, president, Benefit Consultants Group, an Alteva customer. “Several weeks ago we were experiencing a number of very odd issues. Alteva decided to deploy the PacketSmart tool and, within minutes, it identified that there was an issue with a switch on our local area network. We removed the problematic switch and everything is back to superior performance.”

“As businesses continue to embrace cloud-based UC solutions, such as VoIP integrated with Microsoft Exchange/OCS and Salesforce.com, the need to deliver end-to-end service quality is paramount,” said Mark Marquez, chief technology officer at Alteva. “Alteva is dedicated to delivering the most advanced features and functionality at the highest service quality level, which is why we use BroadSoft’s PacketSmart. It provides a crucial level of insight into complex network issues that would otherwise not be possible.”
