TONY THAKUR TO HEAD UP CENX ENGINEERING AND OPERATIONS

Industry Veteran brings 25+ years Tier 1 carrier experience to CENX

Chicago, Thursday June 10th, 2010.  CENX Inc., operator of the world’s first and most connected Carrier Ethernet exchanges, today announced the appointment of Tony Thakur as Executive Vice President, Engineering and Operations. Tony brings more than more than 25 years of Tier 1 carrier engineering, design and operational expertise to CENX.

“We are delighted to welcome Tony to the CENX team,” said Nan Chen, CENX CEO. “Tony’s reputation and extensive experience will be an invaluable asset to our carrier customers as we accelerate our world-wide rollout of Carrier Ethernet exchanges.”

Prior to joining CENX, Tony spent fifteen years at tw telecom inc., the nation’s 3rd largest Carrier Ethernet service provider (after AT&T and Verizon).  Most recently, Tony served as Vice President, Network Technologies and Systems, having led the Company’s architecture, engineering, operations, and systems development at various times during his tenure, where he helped build tw telecom to its eventual IPO (with a current market capitalization of $2.5b).  Tony also held engineering and management positions with Sprint’s UTF division and MCI Telecommunications. Tony has an MS Engineering Management from Florida Institute of Technology and BS Electrical Engineering from University of Texas.
