Juniper Networks Redefines Security for Mobile Devices with Availability of Junos Pulse and AppTrack Software

‘New Network’ Software Delivers Ubiquitous Data Access Simply and Securely for Mobile Users as Well as New Service Models for Service Providers

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 15, 2010 – Juniper Networks® (NASDAQ:JNPR, news, filings) today announced the availability of Junos® Pulse to further redefine the mobile experience – delivering integrated connectivity, acceleration, and security anytime, anywhere while enabling new service models for service providers. Juniper also announced the availability of AppTrack software, part of the AppSecure suite of security software that enables application-level visibility and control for its SRX Series Services Gateways across the enterprise.

As part of the ‘new network’ and a core component of the Junos software platform first announced last October 2009, Junos Pulse is a dynamic, standards-based, integrated multi-service network client that allows the IT staff to enforce consistent endpoint security policies across a wide variety of notebooks, netbooks, and smart phones, regardless of whether or not they are corporate owned. It also reduces the number of software agents they support, while greatly limiting the need for end users to directly interact with network connectivity and security software. From any location, end users simply supply their credentials and Junos Pulse ensures simple and secure access to corporate resources from any endpoint device. Building on the success of Juniper’s SA Series SSL VPN appliances, Unified Access Control (UAC), and WXC Series Application Acceleration platform, Junos Pulse combines all of these capabilities and drastically improves the time and resource investments associated with global mobility deployments and overall economics involved in securing the ‘new network’.

“To remain in step with the changing mobility needs of our clients, we have to ensure that that the products and services we offer address a broad range of mobile challenges,” said Alex Cho, CTO, Nova Datacom. “Junos Pulse provides our customers an efficient, secure and cost-effective solution for today’s organizations struggling to manage consistent security and user experience across a wide variety of devices, users, and locations.”

Announced in May 2010 as part of the “dynamic security model” for the 21st century data center, Juniper’s AppTrack software is also available today to help enterprises and service providers move beyond today’s limited security architectures. Building on Juniper’s AppSecure suite of security software, AppTrack software provides highly scalable application-level visibility for Juniper Networks SRX Series Services Gateways. AppTrack provides detailed information on application type and usage across the enterprise. Additionally, the software provides tight services integration that improves data flows and adds application identification information to the firewall session log.

“Paramount to the success of today’s global organizations is the ability for authenticated, authorized users to seamlessly access all necessary applications – from any device, any location, and any resource,” said Karim Toubba, vice president of Product Marketing, Service Layer Technology Business Group at Juniper Networks. “Ubiquitous data access has become a requirement for today’s mobile workforce. Plain and simple, by incorporating Junos Pulse endpoint security or AppTrack Software for the SRX Series, ‘new network’ organizations are ensuring secure connectivity and increased network and application visibility enabling a better end-user experience.”
