Network USA Taps BTI Systems to Deliver High-Demand Packet Services Infrastructure

BTI’s 7000 Series Helps Extend Service Reach Across Louisiana

Ottawa — Monday, March 15, 2010 // BTI Systems, the company that redefines metro service delivery, today announced that Network USA, a regional telecommunications service provider, is using the BTI 7000 Series to deliver next-generation telecommunications services throughout Louisiana.

Network USA operates in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi and delivers a broad range of services from private-line and high-capacity wavelength through a comprehensive portfolio of Ethernet services. The BTI 7000 Series has been in service with Network USA for one-and-a-half years addressing the growing bandwidth requirements of enterprise and wholesale customers with a network solution that provides a high-capacity optical service layer and addresses network expansion cost-effectively with WDM capacity and integrated reach extension capabilities. BTI Systems is deployed for regional network connectivity across Louisiana between Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, Lake Charles and other metropolitan markets served by Network USA.

To complement existing wavelength service capabilities, Network USA recently added the BTI 7000 Series’ packetVX modules within the Baton Rouge to Shreveport corridor to provide Carrier Ethernet-based capabilities addressing increased packet service demands from enterprises and wholesale connectivity requirements. Utilizing this plug-and-play, modular capability of the BTI 7000 Series packet optical platform, Network USA can now deliver Layer 2-based Ethernet services and multiprotocol wavelength private-line services from one platform addressing diverse customer requirements for regional service connectivity.

“Having one platform that allows packet-based and wavelength client service delivery and convergence of our various service offerings across our regional footprint simplifies our operations greatly,” commented James Davis, CEO, Network USA. “The BTI 7000 Series is the network foundation that enables Network USA to anticipate the needs of our customers and deliver innovative services.”

Packet optical networking platforms combine WDM capacity, optical network building blocks—including regional reach extension capabilities—with optical service delivery, and integrated Carrier Ethernet switching capabilities in one platform. The modularity of the platform allows the BTI 7000 Series to address a diverse range of network applications and provides significant operational value due to its compact footprint, low power, and multi-layer, converged management of the transport and services layers.

“By providing the bandwidth to meet the growing needs of their customers, Network USA’s state-of-the-art network delivers next-generation telecommunication services to their customers quickly and affordably,” said Steve Waszak, President and CEO, BTI Systems. “BTI’s solutions provide Network USA the means to maintain a flexible network foundation and the ability to rapidly respond to customer demand—both critical to business success.”
