Infinera Receives Brocade Data Center Ready Status for ATN Metro Edge Platform

SUNNYVALE, CA, Mar 29, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) –Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN, news, filings) announced that its ATN metro edge platform has been certified by Brocade Communications Systems Inc. for 1G and 2G Fibre Channel, according to the testing requirements of the Brocade Data Center Ready Program. The program is an initiative designed to foster interoperability in multi-vendor Brocade-based data center environments. The testing was conducted at the Brocade Data Center Ready labs, which are state-of-the-art facilities supporting end-to-end interoperability and performance testing of SAN products in multi-vendor and large fabric environments. The Brocade Data Center Ready Program boasts an impressive group of members joining the program since its launch in 2000.

“Achieving certification as part of the Brocade Data Center Ready program opens new applications for deployment of the ATN platform and integrated ATN-DTN networks,” said Paul Morkel, senior director of product marketing for Infinera. “The SAN market is growing as enterprises and carriers implement storage applications worldwide.”

The Infinera ATN is a metro-optimized CWDM and DWDM platform designed for cost-effective add/drop and multi-service aggregation in metro networks. The ATN extends Infinera’s digital optical networking benefits into the metro environment by providing a small form-factor, cost-efficient wavelength-granular add/drop system that interoperates with Infinera DTN. The integration of ATN and DTN delivers both bandwidth efficiency and simplified end-to-end management of services across the network.

“Infinera’s successful completion of the Data Center Ready Program certifies its ATN metro edge platform’s interoperability with Brocade switches and directors in multi-vendor SAN environments,” said Patric Chang, director of Strategic Alliances at Brocade. “As storage area networks are being deployed worldwide at a rapid rate, customers now have the added assurance that these technologies working in tandem form a scalable, high-performance networking foundation for storage environments.”

About the Brocade Data Center Ready Program The Brocade Data Center Ready program is a comprehensive testing and configuration initiative designed to foster end-to-end SAN interoperability. As part of the program, testing is conducted in SAN configurations that include a heterogeneous mix of servers, storage systems, Brocade switches, SAN management and enterprise applications, and other SAN technologies. Brocade has created an interoperability lab featuring a heterogeneous SAN fabric, in which the company tests and validates partner equipment in specific configurations. Vendors receive Brocade Data Center Ready qualification after completing tests to confirm that vendors’ products meet interoperability guidelines.
