Digital Hollywood at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Features NTT America

Company’s CTO to Discuss Leveraging Infrastructure Assets to Get with the Program

New York, NY – NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), today announced the company’s chief technology officer (CTO) and vice president of IP development for the Global IP Network Business Unit, Doug Junkins, will speak at the Digital Hollywood conference at the International CES, the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology. At the forefront of NTT Communications’ global business development as a leading provider of enterprise hosting, managed network, and global IP networking services, NTT America has unique insight into how digital entertainment executives and content decision makers can cost effectively and productively deploy next generation services and applications, such as PC-TV, to support growth and additional revenue opportunities. The panel will take place on January 9, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. PST in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall.

Mr. Junkins will join industry leaders on the Digital Hollywood event panel, “Content Delivery, Rich Media, IPTV and Internet TV Connectivity-Enabling the Connected Broadband and TV Universe.” The integration of the IPTV and TV experience with the full power of new consumer technologies – from broadband to mobile – opens the door to not only a unique world of entertainment and information, it brings to the table a next generation idea of full consumer interactivity within the PC-TV experience.

During the panel, Mr. Junkins will address opportunities for broadcasters seeking optimal network architecture for content distribution and delivery worldwide. He will talk about why flexibility in bandwidth, connections and pricing are fundamental to containing costs. He will discuss network infrastructure assets (speed, reliability, security and quality) that are essential for the successful delivery of new applications, such as PC-TV, that give entertainment executives new distribution channels for existing content as well as new opportunities for advertising revenue. Mr. Junkins will also give a glimpse into the future, touching on how new advances in IPv6 and 100GigE provide a platform to give broadcasters a competitive advantage.

In his role as CTO, Mr. Junkins is responsible for the company’s technology procurement strategy and vendor selection, industry relations and standardization efforts, and overall product portfolio coordination across both the Global IP Network and Enterprise Solutions business units of NTT America. The Enterprise Solutions Business Unit (ESBU) is focused on providing private networking and datacenter/colocation solutions to enterprise customers and multinational corporations. The Global IP Network (GIN) Business Unit operates one of the leading Global Tier-1 Internet backbones and offers direct IP transit connections to telecommunications companies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), enterprises and Web hosting companies.
